Caramelised Orange and Poppy Seed Cake
Ingredients:
- 200g butter
- 200g golden caster sugar
- 3 eggs
- 250g plain flour
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ cup of Caramelised orange syrup and VerJuice (50/50)*
- 50g poppy seeds
*Substitute the juice of 2 oranges for the caramelised Orange syrup if needed.
Instructions:
- Oven 180
- Grease a 20cm springform cake tin.
- Mix 200g butter and 200g sugar in a large bowl (mix until light and creamy) then add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after you add each one.
- Add the flour and baking powder, mix well, then add Orange syrup, verjuice and poppy seeds. Stir everything together, then pour into the cake tin.
- Bake for 50 mins, until cooked (remove once cooled).
